Daken - Son of The Wolverine

Hey guys! Here's the first of my Dark Avengers, Daken! Personally I don't really like Daken but I had to do something with all those extra wolverine parts so a little fitting here and there and now we have Daken! I didn;t want to make a base this time. I'll just wait till I can make all the Dark Avengers before I do. hehe :)

The fig was made from a MU X-force Wolverine, a MLS Wolverine and HoM Spidey. Some sanding was needed to fit the parts together. The claws were made from bobby pins and they were really difficult to bend the way I wanted them to. I also made swivels for his forearms because the MLS figs didn't have those. I also made the mask on his head longer.

The tattoos weren't made to be accurate. I kinda put my own twist into them. I gotta admit though, this isn't the cleanest fig I've made. I think it has something to do with not liking Daken very much. Oh well...

Here is a size comparison with Logan. I think it's just right as I wanted him to be a little taller than Logan but still short enough. The buckle on his belt was just some fodder part because I didn't like the buckle look. You may also notice I made little alterations to his costume. You guys know that I don't like the underwear outside look. Only a few heroes can pull those off and most of them are from DC :D

"I never knew my father. I was raised...to be someone different than him. And now I'm supposed to be him. I never asked for that, but when the opportunity found me...I was curious. I wanted to know what it was like. To have people look at me and see...my father."

Well, that's it. Stay tuned for more Dark Avengers :)

The Incredible Hulk - The Worldbreaker

The NEXT entry! The Incredible Hulk! The title "Worldbreaker" really fits him to the bone as he is one of the most savage and most powerful beings to ever walk the universe. :)

Bruce Banner, for me, has one of the saddest and loneliest lives for any "hero" out there so his rage is understandable. He is truly the rage incarnate and the term hero doesn't even fit this guy. He is more of a warrior battling his own demons.

Dr. David Banner... physician, scientist, searching for a way to tap in to the hidden strenghts that all humans have. Then, an accidental overdose of gamma radiation, alters his body chemistry. And now, when David Banner grows angry or outraged a startling metamorphosis occurs. The creature is driven by rage and pursued by an investigative reporter. The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. David Banner is believed to be dead and must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

This Hulk custom was made out of The 2008 Hulk movie fig and the MU Red Hulk because I wanted him to have closed fists. The base was made from Plaster of Paris which was a bitch to work with. haha. This custom is more about the paint bros!

The head was the best part of this custom for me. I think I got the eyes just right and the look just perfect. I also flattened his chest because they were too big for me.

I sculpted the torn details on his pants and I tried my best to paint the pants to make it look more real.

I took out the torn details on the back of the knees to give the big guy more articulation.

Multiple washed and light drybrushing really popped out the details on this awesome fig!

"Don't make me angry... You won't like me when I'm angry!" - Bruce Banner

Size Comparison with other MU figs: Just perfect for me! :D

The base was hard to make... all that plaster of paris, the carving and then the painting. I detailed the thing with bullet holes for effect.

I hope you guys like my work! Keep coming back for more toys becoming "superheroes"!

The Spectacular Spider-man

"With great power comes GREATER responsibility"

First of all, a shout out to my friend Kyle for putting this figure together! He created one awesome Spidey!

Now that I had the perfect Spidey base to work with, the only thing left to do was put my own magic on it. :D Kyle used parts from MU and SHS Spidey and it worked well I might say. I sculpted a new logo on the chest and also a new one on the back because I wanted my version of Spidey to be much more slick (Less round if ya' know what I mean).

The chest logo was inspired by the Iron Spider logo. I just had to miniaturize it and put my own touches to it.I painted the weblines on his body with the paint n' wipe technique.

The web on the base was made with craft wire and hot glue, then drybrushed for effect.

The other web lines were made from craft wire only and then also drybrushed.

I went with the smaller eye look for Spidey as I wanted this version to be a slick and more serious Peter Parker.

The back logo was inspired to look like a real spider silhouette :)

"My Spider-sens is tingling!"

The backpack was form the MU House of M Spidey and was repainted. I decided not to recolor the camera, clothes and shoe because I only wanted Spidey to be the one standing out in the pictures.

The base was made from Dragon quest stand with Plaster of Paris, craft wire and hot glue! whew! I think the base was the hardest part of this custom rather than the figure. The manhole cover is removable and I was suppose to make a web attachment to make it look like Spidey is gonna throw it but I decided against it as I though that would've been going overboard.

That's it, more customs to come next time! This has been your friendly neighborhood Spider-man!

TOY PHOTOGRAPHY

Trying out ways to take better pictures of my customs.

Brighter Light:

Darker Light:

I think the light will depend on the custom, in this case Daredevil is better off on the darker photos.

Magneto - The Master of Magnetism

Hey Guys! Here's my recent custom, Magneto!!! Yeah you can never hate on  the classic X-men villain. I tried to make my version a really kickass Magneto that kills humans without remorse... (As you can see by the base :D) My custom was inspired by his look in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 but not completely. Also, the base was inspired by Longineus' custom "Magneto - End of Times". Check it out on figurerealm! Now onto the custom! The Master of Magnetism himself.

"I am no hero. Merely a man who has seen and done and endured what can never be forgotten or forgiven."  - Magneto

The details on his forearms, body and boots were sculpted. I had to sculpt the upper torso to the lower torso and in the process sacrificing his torso articulation.

“I wear red, the color of blood, in tribute to their lost lives. And the harder I try to cast it aside, to find the gentler path, the more irresistibly I am drawn back. I should have died myself with those that I loved. Instead I carted the bodies by the hundreds, by the thousands, from the death house to the crematorium, and the ashes to the burial ground. Asking myself now what I could not then—Why was I spared?” - Magneto

I opted to paint his head with white-eyed look to better exaggerate his awesomeness!

When the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants gets through, humans will no longer have a place on planet Earth!

The base features blood details to simulate how he uses his powers over his enemies. I really liked Longineus' concept of the metal spire because it has always been portrayed that Magneto moves stuff with his power, but not often that he can change the form of the metal object itself.

"Charles Xavier did more for mutants than you will ever know. My single greatest regret is that he had to die for our dream to live." - Magneto

I hope you like this one guys! School has kept me busy lately but I promise you there will be more to come!

GI JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO

More old customs. This time they're joes. Face it, everybody loves Joes! LOL. (You can click on their names to go to their respective customs pages :D)

I've always loved Joes when I was small so it was always natural for me to start customizing on Joes. 3.75 figs have and will always be my favorite scale to play/collect/customize with. :D Enjoy!!!

Special Bonus Custom Vehicle!
