Scorpion

Took a break from making DC characters so I decided to finish my custom Scorpion lying around the work area. Hanzo's design is heavily based on the concept of Vincent Prose. I really liked how he explained that the yellow on the costume comes from the Demon's blood that had resurrected Scorpion. I tweaked the design a little bit by mixing his MK9 shoulder pads, mask and swords with the design. He was coated with flat black and painted a shade of gun metal on his armored parts. His skin was also purposely painted to look pale because he is of the undead. I also followed the concept wherein his skin on the elbow part looks like it is peeling off. A lot of sculpt went into this one and I also included a custom non-articulated Bi-Han/Elder Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot to show how he was killed by Scorpion. Fatality!

Cyborg

Another DC Character from me in the form of Vic Stone or Cyborg. He's going to be a big part of the new JLA in the new 52 Universe and I've always been kind of interested in the character. His new design in the new 52 looks a lot more like organic metal though. However, I really like his design in the DCU online trailer so I based my custom off that look. It's not meant to be 100% accurate but I just wanted to capture the feel to that design. I also threw in a size comparison pic to show you guys how big I wanted him to be. Hope you guys like him.

The Batman

Batman has been one of the most popular comic book characters out there since time immemorial. His popularity got a big boost recently thanks to the Arkham games which are awesome. That leads me to my Batman which was heavily based on the costume designs from the series. He's not too robotic/padded yet he doesn't look like he's wearing tights. Rather than the black monotone of the movie costumes, I chose to go with the dark blue, dark grey and black combo. I also sculpted the logo and chose to put the iris in the eyes because it's more realistic to his costume and character. The blades on the arms were made from bobby pins. I'm happy with the end design and proud to have him in my collection. Cheers!

Green Lantern Hal Jordan 2.0

So I decided to remake my GL using the new MU male body to make him a bit taller. I reused the head from my old GL and sculpted additional hair. I also sculpted the body armor, shoulder guards and chest symbol to add a little more depth rather than just painting it on. I painted this one using lighter green and instead of putting white or silver in the spaces on the symbol, I decided to use yellowish green to make it look more like the current symbol on GL's chest. This is based on the new DCnU design which I love because they decided to retain the basic GL costume with minimal changes. The difference on mine is that I decided not to follow the pointed boots look. Enjoy!

Gambit - Le Diable Blanc

"The X-Men are heroes. I'm a thief."

Here's Gambit! Before I talk about this figure, I'm now going to start putting my logo on each picture since I don't want anyone to copy them. I've also decided to base the design of my customs on what I think they would look like in my superhero universe. So with this figure, I've decided that this is a full-powered Gambit where none of his powers have been lessened by the operation Mr. Sinister did to him. (Yes, this means that he can blow things up with his mind now. LOL). I put a lot of thought into this figure since Gambit is my favorite character from the X-men story-line. He's all about being mysterious and always having his own agenda and that's what I like about ol' Remy. First off I never liked the pink/mauve outfit he wears in the comics and decided to darken the tone of that shade of color with my own version. Next I decided to keep the design of his outfit at a minimal and that meant no more patterns on the sides of his pants and no more armor parts on his collar bone area. I like how it turned out and it was what I was looking for. I also lengthened his hair since the long-haired Gambit was the one I like better. I was also very happy with how the jacket came out since I was going for a brown-leathery look. I changed the forearm part of the jacket to go with more straps and a more sophisticated feel. I also made his kinetic card that's already charged up to explode. You gotta go with the Ace of Spades on that one. Lastly I decided to put my own spin on his bo staff by making it transparent. (Just imagine Emma Frost gave it to him or something, assuming she can do that). I think it adds more flare to how Remy looks and makes him much more unique. Overall I really liked how this figure all came together and I was even surprised how minimal the paint rub was on the shoulders. I thought they would chip really easily because of how tight they were. I can't wait to make Rogue to partner up with Remy! Thanks and enjoy!

Thor Odinson - The God of Thunder

"I am Thor Odinson of the Vikings, giant. I am not the god of reason and understanding. I am the god of Thunder and Lightning!!!"

Hi guys, another custom from me. This time, the mighty Thor! Of the big 3, I've always been fan of Thor. I gotta say that the MU modern version was a very good figure but I was never a fan of that costume. I wanted something between a cross of the classic look and the modern look. This custom is heavily influence by his classic costume in MUA2. I did a lot of sculpting on his upper armor and made his skirt thing from scratch. I also redid Mjollnir from the old one to make it look bigger. The wings on his helmet was also raised a bit and I added discs on the sides. It's hard to explain some of the things I did on this guy so just take a look. Cheers guys! I hope you like him.

You can take a look at my blog to see more of my customs.

GL Hal Jordan - The Emerald Knight

Forcing your willpower into the ring. Asking it to give your thoughts... life...

...is that what it's like?

every time.

damn.

Part two of my Hal Jordan special. Hal has obviously taken over as my new favorite comic book superhero. Something about the concept of willpower and how powerful you can become through it fits me well. I decided to do Hal first and maybe follow up with the rest of the magnificent 7 and then the corpse. Hal here was made with careful planning and although the execution wasn't what I would've liked, it'll do just fine.

I decided to make a simple base for him and give the base some space for the battery to be displayed. I think the lantern battery is one of the most iconic objects in the DC universe and shouldn't be left out. I originally intended to put LED's inside but I sucked at it and sticked to what I do best. Sculpted a lot on this guy and added some height as the BNB figs are on the short side. Chopped the legs and molded some mass to do that. I also decided to sculpt my own mask and hair along with the costume. I chose the Kennedy head because I thought it added more emotion if Hal's expression was a little more intense. And what would a Green Lantern be without a construct? For Hal, simplicity but accuracy and strength is the way to go. So, the standard power beam was chosen over more sophisticated constructs. I'll try to do more complicated ones for my future GL's.

Cheers and I hope you like it! Commens are always welcome!

Hal Jordan - Green Lantern of Sector 2814

"What are you afraid of?"

People like to ask me that, when they do, they have this knowing grin on their faces, as if they expect me to answer "nothing".

I humor them most of the time because that's what they want me to say.

"I'm not afraid of anything"

Before I was given the greatest weapon in the universe, before I journeyed to the stars--

--my dad gave me the power to do anything.

He told me I could be whatever I wanted to be.

- Hal Jordan

Here is part one of my Hal Jordan special. Hope you guys like it. Feels nice to get back to customizing after all work and school.

My inspiration for this one was simple, Hal Jordan before he became the green lantern. I've always had a thing for jets and being a pilot. It's not a coincidence that GL became my favorite comic book superhero to date. I purposely photographed this custom without showing the head because it just feels... right. I chopped the upper part of the bbi fig and combined it with the lower part of Matt Trakker. I also did the same with the 2 parts of the feet so that He'd have authentic looking boots. Comments are always welcome!
